Clarksville, TN Shae Webbers path to becoming a hospitality management student at Austin Peay State University APSU was as unconventional as it was inspiring. Webber, a mother of five with over two decades of experience in hospitality and sales, transformed obstacles into opportunities in pursuit of her bachelors degree.Born into a military family, Webber spent her formative years on the move, an experie stanley thermobecher nce she now recognizes as an early lesson in adaptability and communication skills. Throughout her journey, she has often drawn inspiration from those times, specifically her mothers military story. Growing up, my mother always told us about boot camp and a particular live fire exercise, Webber said. She was having a hard time, and it started raining, which only added frustration to the situation. So, she was lying there, away from her family, live fire overhead, rain stanley cup ing and muddy, and all she could think about was my brother and me. Jarrett CrawfordClarksville, TN Last year, Jarrett Crawford opened the Clarksville Wado Ryu Karate School. At the academy, Crawford teaches Wado Ryu, a style that originated in Japan. It the first Japanese style, said Crawford. It completely Japanese. Crawford first began displaying his karate moves when he was 8 years old. That when he realized that he wanted to open his own school someday. It something I ;ve always wanted to do from the time I was little and beating up on my cousin, said Crawford. The instructor is a 4th degree black belt.At the dojo, there is a photo of Wado Ryu founder H stanley mug ironori tsuka on the wall near a Japanese national flag. A few feet away is an American flag. There is also a 270 punching bag, workout equipment for adults, and large space for combat and practice.Wado Ryu differs greatly from kung fu and other fighting styles.
